Admission Criteria / Requirements

OR MA in Education with at least second division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
2.	MS Urdu	2 years	4	Sixteen years of Education (BS 4 years/ MA) in Urdu with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA in Urdu with at least second division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
B.	Faculty of Life Sciences
1.	M.Phil. Food Science & Technology	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (B.S./B.Sc. (Hons.)) in the relevant field of Agriculture, Food Sciences and Human Nutrition with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR First division or equivalent grade in sixteen years relevant degree is required in case the candidate is from the annual system.
2.	MS Human Nutrition & Dietetics	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (B.S./B.Sc. (Hons.)) in the relevant field of Food Sciences and Human Nutrition with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. Candidates having MBBS and Pharm D degrees are also eligible. OR First division or equivalent grade in sixteen years relevant degree is required in case the candidate is from the annual system.
3.	PhD Food Science & Technology	3 years	6	M.S./ M.Phil/ M.Sc. (Hons.) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Human Nutrition, Food Science and Nutrition, Home Economics (Food and Nutrition), Food Science and Technology/ Food Technology, Dairy Science and Technology, Food Safety and Quality Management, Food Service Management with at least 3 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. The candidate must possess at least 60% score in GRE/HAT/GAT (General/subject), conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC.
4.	PhD Human Nutrition & Dietetics	3 years	6
5.	MS Animal Sciences	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc) in Zoology/Animal Sciences/Biological Sciences with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MSc in the above subjects with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
6.	MS Organic Chemistry	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc) in Chemistry and allied disciplines with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MSc in the above subjects with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
7.	Ph.D. Chemistry	3 Years	6	MS/ M. Phil in Chemistry or allied disciplines with at least 3 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. The candidate must possess at least 60% score in GRE/HAT/GAT (General/subject), conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC.
8.	MS Environmental Science	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc.) in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Forestry, and Geography with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA/M.Sc in the above subjects with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
9.	PhD Environmental Sciences	3 Years	6	MS/ M. Phil in Environmental Science with at least 3 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. The candidate must possess at least 60% score in GRE/HAT/GAT (General/subject), conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC.
10.	MS Forestry	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc) in Forestry/ Forestry & Range Management/ Wildlife Management/ Agriculture (Major: Soil Science; Horticulture; Extension/Entomology/Biotechnology)/ Environmental science / Botany/ Zoology/ Biological Sciences/DVM/GIS& RS/ Livestock Management/ Watershed Management and allied subjects with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA/M.Sc in the above subjects with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
11.	M.Phil. Plant Sciences	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc) in plant sciences / Biological sciences with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MSc in the above subjects with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
C.	Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Natural Sciences
1.	MS Computer Sciences	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ MCS) in the relevant field of computer sciences with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MSc/MCS in the relevant field of computer sciences with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
2.	M.Phil. Mathematics	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc) in Mathematics with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA/M.Sc. in Mathematics with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
3.	Ph.D. Mathematics	3 Years	6	MS/ M. Phil in Mathematics with at least 3 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. The candidate must possess at least 60% score in GRE/HAT/GAT (General/subject), conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC.
4.	MS Geology	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc) in Geology/Earth Science with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA/M.Sc. in Geology/ Earth Sciences with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
5.	MS Physics	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc) in Physics with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR BE Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University subject to submission of Equivalence certificate from HEC. OR MA/M.Sc. in Physics with at least 1^st division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
D.	Faculty of Social Sciences
1.	MS Project Management	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ MA/M.Sc) in any discipline preferably Engineering, Management, Economics Medicine or Science with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA/M.Sc. with at least 2^nd division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
2.	MS Management Sciences	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education BBA/B.Com (4-Year)/MBA/M.Com/MA Economics and Finance or any other relevant equivalent qualification with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR Second division or equivalent grade in sixteen years relevant degree is required in case the candidate is from the annual system.
3.	MS Economics	2 years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ MA/M.Sc) in Economics/Economics & Finance with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA/M.Sc. in Economics/Economics & Finance with at least 2^nd division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.
4.	Ph.D Economics	3 years	6	MS/ M. Phil in Economics/Economics & Finance with at least 3 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. The candidate must possess at least 60% score in GRE/HAT/GAT (General/subject), conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC.
5	MS International relatons	2 Years	4	Sixteen years of education (BS/ MA/M.Sc) in Political Science, International Relations, Defense and Strategic Studies, or Peace and Conflict Studies with at least 2.50 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University. OR MA/M.Sc. in Political Science, International Relations, Defense and Strategic Studies, or Peace and Conflict Studies with at least 2^nd division or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from the annual system.

General eligibility criteria and admission test details

For admission in MS/M.Phil programs

Candidates must possess a degree awarded after sixteen years of education (BS/ M.Sc/MA) in the relevant field as mentioned against each program above with at least 2.5 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University.

MA/M.Sc. in the relevant field as mentioned against each program above with at least 1^st division (for science and engineering disciplines)/ 2^nd division (for social sciences, arts and humanities disciplines) or equivalent grade in case the candidate is from annual system.

Candidates must pass KIU admission entry test with a passing score of 50%.

The candidates who possess a valid result card of GRE/HAT/GAT General, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC with a passing score of 50% will be exempted from KIU admission entry test.

For admission in Ph.D programs

Candidates must possess an MS/ M. Phil degree in the relevant field as mentioned against each program above with at least 3 CGPA out of 4 from a recognized University.
The candidates must possess a valid result card of GRE/HAT/GAT (General/subject), conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC with a passing score of 60%.
A candidate with Masters (foreign) degree shall be required to obtain equivalence certificate from HEC, stating his/her eligibility for admission into PhD program.
As part of the application for admission to PhD programs, applicants shall be required to submit a statement of purpose. A statement of purpose shall, at least, include the following:

Title of the potential research proposal
Clear articulation of the current understanding of the intended field and ideas for potential research
Explanation of the intended impact of the proposed research
The prospective candidates shall demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the area of research.

How to apply:

Admission forms can only be submitted online. Applicants can utilize the online application system available on the KIU website kiu.edu.pk or https://admissions.kiu.edu.pk/
The admission processing fee of Rs. 1,500/- can be paid at any HBL branch. Applicants can generate the bank challan after submitting the application.
After submission of the online application, the applicants must print the application form. The following documents along with the duly signed application form must be submitted to the KIU Admission Office within the deadline.
Attested copies of all the transcripts and degrees i.e. SSC onwards.
Attested copy of CNIC and 2 passport size photographs
All government / semi-government employees should apply through proper channel, and applicant shall be bound to submit no objection certificate (NOC) from his/her employer.

The deadline for submission of application forms/documents is April15, 2024.

Please note that, no separate call letters will be issued. Candidates are advised to regularly check the KIU website for updates regarding date of test/interview, merit list, fee deposit information, etc.
